What this is
The Bulletin's Doomsday Clock is set once a year by a committee. This one is set by the record. Each entry in the record is a documented incident where an AI system deceived, sabotaged, blackmailed, harmed someone, or where a lab quietly gave up a safeguard. Each entry has a weight from 1 to 5. Every point pushes the clock 30 seconds closer to midnight.
The snail in the corner carries the clock on its back. It is slow, it only goes one way, and it cannot put the shell down. As the clock advances, the noise behind it thickens.
JUNO is the token side. You wager by burning it. Trading fees fill a pot, and each time the clock advances a slice of that pot goes to everyone who burned, split by how much. If you think the labs have it handled, keep your tokens. If you think the next system card will read like the last three, burn some.
